NW 23rd: Southern-inspired Southland Whiskey Kitchen, the latest eatery from Casa del Matador's Nathan Opper and Zak Melang, will officially open Thursday, October 11th. The menu includes hundreds of bottles of whiskey, heritage cocktails, wine and beer, and its own small-batch sodas in addition to slow-cooked BBQ, mesquite-grilled steaks, and Southern classics like shrimp and grits, catfish po’boys, and fried chicken. 1422 NW 23rd Ave.
Eugene: Sizzle Pie, the late-night pizza joint catering to the East and West Burnside crowds, is taking its signature brand of drunk-friendly pie a few hours south to Eugene. The pizza slingin' spot's third location is set to occupy a space in downtown Eugene's Broadway Commerce Center, with an expected debut date of New Year's Eve.
