Portland’s Saturday Market hops into the fashion show circuit this week. Jumping from their habitual Saturday, the largest arts and craft market in continuous operation in the U.S., makes a rare Thursday showing to celebrate thirteen of their local fashion related vendors. If you weren’t aware of the rules of the market before, all items must be handmade and go through a juried panel to be accepted for sale.
Who’s going to be in the spotlight at their Bossanova Ballroom fashion show Thursday night? A mix of apparel and accessory designers including: Rythmatix, Amy Wing, Bella Sisters, Cygnet Silks & Red Wizard Arts, Amy Dotts, Mugwump, Hat People, Maru Silks, Shabby Knapsack, Perfekt Tension, Yed Omi Jewelry, and Flood Clothing. The main event starts at 9pm, but the festivities kick off an hour earlier when the doors open and folks are free to come check out the installations from other market sellers and nibble on treats from food vendors.
Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door with proceeds goes towards the Portland Old Town Arts & Cultural Foundation.
