A rebirth for Reading Frenzy? Could be.
Since closing late last month, Chloe Eudaly, the plucky proprietor of the independent bookstore/gallery/zine emporium on SW Oak Street has not been idle. Today she announced a daring plan to relocate Reading Frenzy, and relaunch her biblio-business with a Kickstarter campaign—and you can help. Yes, we're aware that it's tax season and the financial demands on our dwindling checking accounts are legion. But for nearly 20 years, Reading Frenzy has been a bastion of challenging art, literature, and commerce, an oasis for restless intellectuals and literary provocateurs, and a supportive jumping off point for countless local zinesters. Furthermore, Eudaly reports that before being notified by her landlord in December that she would have to move in 90 days, 2012 was shaping up to be one of Reading Frenzy's most profitable years ever and that the relaunch includes an eye toward expansion. This is no small feat considering the continuing Kindle-ization of our literary landscape.
