NOSFERATU!
Am I the only one that sees an eerily awesome resemblance between Portland’s spindly swingman Travis Outlaw and black-and-white horror legend Nosferatu?! C’mon, it can’t just be me. I mean, every time he enters the game I stand up and shout "NOSFERATU!" The ladyfriend looks at me like I’ve lost my damn mind, but it’s there. Look! The bald head…the wide eyes…the long arms…the blood sucking fangs!
I guess what I’m trying to say is that we’ve got a great team here, one that’s easy to get behind…but it does lack a bit of character. We need nicknames. And theme music.
Sorry…After last night’s 20 and 10 game by Greg Oden, we’ve got Blazers on the brain. I know, I know, you can only stomach moral victories for so long, but for now it’s nice seeing the big man round himself into shape and slowly learn how to become a force for the Trailblazers…even if that means dropping a few games early in the season.
It got my officemate John Chandler and I talking about how the team needs to have theme music for each of their players.
Rudy Fernandez: "Rudy Can’t Fail," by The Clash (obviously).
Greg Oden: The theme from "Sanford and Son."
Travis Outlaw: Creepy organ music and smoke machines.
Sergio: Keeping with the Clash theme, how about "Spanish Bombs?"
Anything else?
