The 1923 bungalow was in "immaculate" condition inside and out, but the spindly metal railing on the porch looked like braces on an otherwise appealing smile.
When Howells replaced the spindly metal rail with a more substantial wooden railing, it was like he’d taken the braces off the front porch to reveal straight white teeth; the house smiles proudly.
The plain, unassuming back facade was unchanged since the home was built in 1923.
Howells added the second story dormer for the master suite, but pulled it in from the original roof line so that even from the backyard view, the addition isn’t imposing.
The shower and counter are custom sized for the tall owner.
