Perhaps it’s because my father has been rocking a Magnum P.I. mustache for 30 years, perhaps it’s because I was an adolescent in the 90’s when goatees controlled the world, or perhaps it’s because I live in Portland, but I am fascinated with facial hair. It can be scruffy and sexy, wild and weird, pencil thin and dastardly looking, the list goes on and on. My sense of wonder for the furry face is about to go into overdrive with this weekends 2011 West Coast Beard & Mustache Championships. Yes, you read that correctly.
