Here's a reason to start your wine tasting day trip a little bit earlier: Chef Daniel Mondok's Dundee destination Paulée is now open for breakfast, serving a.m. fare to harvest workers, neighbors, and visitors alike.
Mondok, along with Chef de Cuisine Sean Temple, has debuted a new morning menu with hearty from-scratch dishes like garden-fresh Benedicts with avocado, tomatoes, and pancetta on toasted brioche, creamy walnut and fruit crepes, smoked salmon skillets with rosemary potato and chanterelle hash, Belgian waffles with cinnamon apples, fresh biscuits and fennel sausage gravy, and autumnal Pumpkin buttermilk pancakes drizzled in Vermont maple syrup.
At Paulée, breakfast reveals a different side of the upscale establishment, prioritizing the comfort and warmth that's much needed in the earlier hours, without sacrificing the attention to detail that garnered Mondok critical acclaim over his career.
Breakfast is available at Paulée from 8 am to 11 am, Wednesday through Monday (closed Tuesday). If your morning starts even earlier, coffee and pastries are available starting at 7 am. On Saturday and Sunday, the restaurant offers a weekend brunch from 8 am to 2 pm, featuring the full breakfast menu in addition to recently-updated lunch offerings.
