Hood River Organic Annual Farm Dinner
What: Hood River Organic is holding an inaugural annual farm dinner this month, giving food lovers an excuse to trek out to the Hood River Fruit Loop. Chef Ben Stenn of Celilo Restaurant will be serving a freshly butchered pig, and cider maker Brian Perkey of Hood River Valley and winemaker Luke Bradford will be serving up drinks.

Andina Presents the 8th annual Rosé Wine Dinner
What: Just in time for balmy summer weather, Andina’s 8th annual Rosé Wine Dinner features a variety of rosés. Resident sommelier Caryn Benke has curated a selection of 25 rosés from around the world representing dozens of grape varieties. They will be paired with tapas served family style in Tupai, the event space just above the restaurant.

The Good Food Awards Come to Portland for a Night Market and ‘Bratanalia’
What: The Good Food Merchants Guild, a membership association of 250 businesses that supports the Good Food Awards, will partner with Olympic Provisions to host a free Good Food Night Market and Beer & Brats After Party at their sausage factory-cum-event venue. Portland’s Tails & Trotters, Unbound Pickling, and Xocalatl de Davíd will sell their wares side by side with two-dozen Good Food Award Winners and Guild Members from Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. The Night Market will feature everything from coffees and champagne-style ciders to bacon pickles and porkstrami.

Dutch Craft Brewers Come to PDX for “Bridging Cities: One Beer at a Time”
What: The Oregon Brewers Festival is hosting 11 Dutch (and one German) craft brewers this month! To celebrate their arrival, the Raccoon Lodge & Brew Pub, the Portland Dutch Society and the Portland Utrecht Network are welcoming the guest brewers with a special event at the Raccoon Lodge. Festivities will include a catered BBQ and beer, with music by Dutch musician Michele Van Kleef and PSU Jazz musician Lance Vallis.

Jacobsen Salt Hosts Dinner with Jason French, Renee Erickson, and Matt Accarrino
What: In order to celebrate the opening of their new retail shop, Jacobsen Salt Co. will host some of the greatest talent in the West Coast food community for a five-course meal. The dinner will feature award-winning chefs from San Francisco to Seattle: Matt Accarrino of SPQR in SF, Renee Erickson of the Walrus and Carpenter, the Whale Wins, Barnacle, and Boat Street Café in Seattle, and Portland’s own Jason French of Ned Ludd.

After Hours Supper Club
What: Portland has a brand new pop up dinner concept, After Hours Supper Club, kicking off their very first pop up dinner this month with six courses, wine pairings, and the chance to meet and talk with all of the After Hours Chefs and producers. Only twenty seats are available. The dinner will feature Middle Eastern, Moroccan, and Mediterranean influences to create an upscale but playful dining experience that honors local seasonal bounty with Portland flair: menu by Mindy Keith (Xico), charcuterie and house pickles by Richard Batley, specialty breads by Dillon DeBauche (Little T), and wines made by Gabriel Jagle (Guild Winemakers).

Wine and Geology Seminar with Dr. Scott Burns: “Our Dirty Secrets are in the Soil”
What: Cooper Mountain Vineyards is hosting Dr. Scott Burns, Professor Emeritus at Portland State University for a day of wine and geology in the Willamette Valley. Dr. Burns will spend the afternoon speaking about the terroir—the relationship between wine, soils, geology and climate—of Cooper Mountain Vineyards; starting with the geology of the Willamette Valley and finishing with a hands-on look at the soils. There will be soil pits!

Chef in My Garden Al Fresco Dining Experience
What: A dinner by Chef Dolan Lane of Bluehour will be served in the gardens of Margianne and Arthur Erickson, featuring wines from Antica Terra winery. Lane will prepare a feast to be presented in the Southwest Hills terraced gardens of Margianne and Arthur Erickson, proprietors of Arthur W. Erickson Fine Arts and Unusual Antiquities downtown. In 2007, Better Homes and Gardens published a spread of their English-style garden with its tremendous views.

Morgan St. Theater Collaborative Dessert Pop-Up
What: For one night in July, Morgan St. Theater is collaborating with pastry chef Mindy Keith to create a tasting menu devoted to creative ice cream desserts. Drawing inspiration from seasonal ingredients and whimsical imaginations, this menu brings summertime to the foreground, playing with the infinite possibilities of frozen desserts. This 24-seat performance at Xico will include a flight of three frozen desserts served with storytelling and flair.
