China Forbes, Storm Large, and friends in a rousing rendition of "Auld Lang Syne."

Trigger warning for holiday hold-outs: We’ve come over all tinsel from listening to the festive delight that is Pink Martini’s Joy to the World: A Holiday Spectacular, a new NPR show airing this month for the unabashed anti-Scrooge.

Recorded at OPB studios earlier in December, the hour-long program includes classic holiday heart-stirrers such as "Little Drummer Boy" and "O Holy Night", along with a saucy, Storm Large rendition of "Santa Baby", and a surprisingly rollicking, knees-up of an "Auld Lang Syne." You can also expect songs in Arabic, French, Ladino, and Hebrew—it’s Pink Martini, after all.

Pink Martini's Joy to the World: A Holiday Spectacular

Hosted by NPR's All Things Considered host Ari Shapiro—who lends his voice to the band for some seasonal tunes—Joy to the World: A Holiday Spectacular also brings in the voices of Portland-residents the Von Trapps, Cantor Ida Rae Cahana, and the Pacific Youth Choir.

The show airs on OPB on Tuesday, December 22 at 9pm, but those unable to wait can stream it now at NPR.org. Gather round the wireless, Portland, and bring some Joy to the World to your city quadrant.
