It’s never too late to start a resolution, New Year's Day be damned—and Barre3 is here to help. On February 16, the signature ballet barre, yoga, and pilates mashup will be making legs quake at the local company's fifth Portland location in the Cedar Mill neighborhood’s new Timberland Town Center. To celebrate, the new location will host a week of free classes, giveaways (from Market of Choice, The Table, Athleta, Urban Waxx, Lululemon, Pharmaca, and Lorna Jane), and free childcare from February 16 through 22. Now residents of SW Portland and nearby Beaverton can conveniently sidle up to the barre for 60 minutes of this thigh shaking, booty busting workout. Space is limited at these 100% free classes, so sign up now!

Like the other myriad variations of the increasingly popular ballet barre workout, Barre3 focuses on small isometric movements and core stabilization holds, strengthening the arms, abs, thighs and butt. Its uniqueness within the larger barre genre comes from the incorporation of larger, functional movements combined with low-impact cardio to jumpstart the metabolism safely and effectively.

Barre3 workouts are difficult enough to exhaust the most dedicated athlete, yet gentle enough on the body that moms-to-be and fitness fledglings flock to the studios every day. Barre3 Cedar Mill will be open seven days a week, with classes running as early as 6 am and as late as 6:30 pm, offering spa-like changing facilities, lockers and showers, and childcare services for busy parents. According to co-founder Chris Lincoln, the 2000-square-foot Cedar Mill studio promises to be one of the best barre3 locations to date.

If you want to check out the studio before the official launch, pop by during the space's open house hours: Friday, February 13th from 11 am to 1 pm, and Sunday, February 15th from 11a m-1 pm
