As of last Friday, Belmont’s pop-up turned brick-and-mortar Coquine has added breakfast and lunch hours. Coffee and pastries, like biscuits with honey thyme butter, will be available in the morning. Soter Vineyards’ sister company, North Valley Vineyards, has opened a tasting room in Newberg near the Allison Inn and Spa. Portland Business Journal reports that Dave's Killer Bread, the organic Portland bread brand, has been purchased by Flowers Food Inc. (owners of Wonder Bread and Tastykake) for $275 million. Dave's Killer Bread was born as a spinoff of NatureBake in 2005, with ex-con Dave Dahl (brother of then-CEO Glenn Dahl) as the mascot for their farmer's market-proud brand.
