Not to get too introspective, but here at Portland Monthly, we're getting very excited about the Fall Fashion feature coming in October's issue. Meanwhile, our seasonal style spectaculars from the last few years—all styled by my indefatigible Lookbook comrade Eden Dawn—remain a great way to launch your autumnal wardrobe reboot. Let's look back:
In 2011, we sent a cute bohemian couple into the Portland streets to model some cozy-but-sharp local styles and evoke some very, mmm, hands-on romance.
The next year, 2012, caught us in a glam-retro mood, capturing an all-female neo-Gatsby scene.
After those frolics—and, perhaps, because the Great Recession finally ended (or sort of ended, or whatever)—2013 was all about the office, and a bodacious vision of Mad Men-style professional power dynamics flipped by gender.
To stay true to the Northwest, however, sometimes you have to go deep in the woods, which is exactly what we did last year, with some woodsy exploration in some of Portland's great outdoors and activewear brands.
What will this year bring? No spoilers here, but if you do some very careful combing of Instagram, you might catch a preview glimpse. And, with Halloween and a significant anniversary of a notable Oregon-shot film in mind, let's just say it's going to kill.
