What: Upholding his perennial summertime tradition, Ava Gene’s Joshua McFadden heads to the 58-acre Our Table Cooperative with fellow chefs in tow. Big Portland names like Naomi Pomeroy (Beast) and Bonnie Morales (Kachka) team with brewers, wineries, and pastry pros (like Maurice’s Kristen Murray.)

19th Hole’s Boozy Mini Golf
What: Hotel deLuxe’s mini golf pop-up is back with a nine-hole course, custom-made picnic tables, and iced, sparkling Smith Tea iced tea on tap (beer is available for shandy-making). Every Sunday for the next few weeks, a guest brewer (or cider-maker) will supply the green, with 2 Towns Cider, Ballast Point, and Firestone Walker on the calendar. The Fermented Man Speaks at Powell’s
What: A most unlikely superhero, Derek Dellinger discusses his yearlong gastronomic adventures eating exclusively fermented food, touching on the science, history, and culture of fermentation—plus recipes. This is your chance to ask Dellinger about the taste of Chinatown Century Eggs, or sampling rotten Icelandic shark meat in Iceland.

Portland’s 1st Annual Hot Sauce Expo
What: As a hotbed of hot sauce, our Rose City is a natural choice for hosting this first annual Hot Sauce Expo, with representatives from all over the state. A rep from the Guinness Book of Records will also be on hand to judge the Carolina Reaper (the world’s hottest pepper, FYI) pepper-eating challenge. Other lip-tingling, mouth-numbing events include Spicy Taco of Doom, Spicy Ghost Pepper Pizza Eating Challenge, and more.

Portland Farmers Market’s Taste of 25 Seasons
What: To celebrate a quarter century of incredible farmer’s markets, the PFM pairs local chef talent with local farms. These multi-course, farm-inspired dinners will travel all over the city—from Nostrana to Sweedeedee—and beyond, to the farms themselves.
When: Dinners began in June, but many have sold out. Book now for events starting in August and running through November.
