As far as parking garages go, you could do a lot worse than Hotel deLuxe’s rooftop lot. Add some seating and a giant screen, and you've got yourself the perfect summer spot for NW Film Center's Top Down Rooftop Cinema series, complete with panoramic views, onsite beer, and foods. This week, it’s Spike Lee’s She’s Gotta Have It, an atypical rom-com about a young Brooklynite woman juggling three male lovers.

At the time, Lee’s 1986 Cannes Festival winner—it took the Foreign Film award in the Youth category—was considered revolutionary simply for its portrayal of smart, upscale black people living in a cosmopolitan neighborhood. Though the director has since expressed his regret about one controversial scene in the movie, the legendary Roger Ebert lauded it for considering the African-American experience “in its own terms, instead of filtering it through implied white values, or tailoring it for white audiences,” and many critics saw it as a groundbreaking cinematic moment.

And we've got tickets for you, so you can see for yourself why this movie launched Spike Lee’s career and made him a household name. Fill out the form below by noon Wednesday, July 27 to be entered for a pair of tickets for Top Down Rooftop Cinema’s Thursday screening:
