Second Shalom Y’all Heads into Former Taylor Railworks Space

The recently shuttered “borderless” American restaurant will become one of John Gorham and co.’s Israeli-Middle Eastern restaurants, according to Willamette Week. (Former Taylor Railworks chef Erik van Kley, meanwhile, is headed to Accanto.) The first Shalom location lives at Southwest 11th and Alder, serving up falafel sandwiches, shakshuka, and fried, aleppo-spiced chicken.

Omertà Closes after Three Months

The Mercury breaks the news that ChefStable/Lighting Bar Collective’s “old world Italian” joint has shuttered after three months. No word yet on why the red sauce-loving, rib-eye-grilling eatery is closing.

Bar from Modest Mouse Singer Will Serve Ranch Pizza

ICYMI: Isaac Brock, Modest Mouse front man, is opening a bar on Northeast 28th Avenue with Bunk co-owner Matt Brown. The name? Poison’s Rainbow. And now, WW reports, it’ll serve as the brick-and-mortar location for Ranch Pizza, a Sicilian-style, delivery-only spot. A bar from the mind of Isaac Brown and deep-dish slices? Count us in.

Roe Announces Opening Date

The Oregonian has Roe’s first day: December 6. The seafood-worshipping, prix fixe eatery from chef Trent Pierce departed its original Southeast Division location last year (along with its disastrous casual seafood mashup, Block + Tackle.) It will reopen downtown next month at 515 Southwest Broadway.

Top Chef Finalist Doug Adams takes over at the Woodsman Tavern

Top Chef finalist Doug Adams has been itching to get into the kitchen at the still-unopened Woodlark Hotel since he departed Imperial in 2016. But Woodlark and its Bullard restaurant might still be a year away. According to The O, Adams will head the kitchen at Southeast Division’s Woodsman Tavern in the meantime, adding a bologna sandwich and wood-fired oysters Rockefeller.
