Six Seasons Cookbook Release Dinner
5–11 p.m. Thu, May 4, Ava Gene’s, a la carte (reservations recommended)
Ava Gene’s chef and owner Joshua McFadden celebrates the release of his new vegetable-centric cookbook, Six Seasons (we've got more on it here), cooking up his favorite recipes and handing out signed copies of the book.
1–7 p.m. every Sunday thru September, Teutonic Wine Co., $10–15 for an entrée
The rock n’ roll, Alsatian-style urban winery has kicked off its seafood Sunday tradition (running every Sunday through September). Each weekend brings a different fish-centric dish and a slew of guest winemakers. On May 7, the theme is “Fish & Chips,” with guest winemaker Joe Swick of Swick Wines.
6 p.m.–close Sat, May 6, Andina, $70, reservations recommended
Portland’s Peruvian icon launches a monthly pop-up to showcase a diverse melting pot of ethnic influences that includes Chinese, Japanese, and Italian flavors. First up? An Italo-Peruano mashup with Andina matriarch Mama Doris and chef de cuisine Yen Tejada. Think breaded “Milan style” steak with quinoa and Peruvian pesto, and “Tiramisu Peruano” for dessert.
3–10 p.m. Wed, May 10, Noble Rot
The popular Southeast wine bar and restaurant (with a really stellar view) celebrates 15 years of extra sharp mac 'n’ cheese, and extra fresh “roof salads” (made with produce grown on the roof). Expect an extra-long happy hour, guest winemakers and bartenders, prizes and giveaways on the half-hour, live music, and rooftop garden tours.
