Adorn Division's 4th Birthday

4–8 p.m. Thu, Nov 29, Adorn on Division
Local boutique chain Adorn has gone from one to four Portland locations in just a few short years. The Division store turns four this week, which obviously means party time. Expect onsite beauty treatments from Fate Beauty Society, a trunk show by Elk & Bella Dahl, and surprise raffles for guests. The first 50 guests get prezzies, so show up early.

Buy This Not That

1–3 p.m. Sat, Dec 1, Sunrise Center
Conscious collector founder Kelsi Smith specializes in telling you what's good to buy. Building off their ethical shopping guide—chock full of Fair Trade brands that give back in some way—the collective will host its first pop-up devoted to ethical brands. Conscious takes over Holocene on Saturday with cruelty-free silk from Soluna, imported goods from artists in Oaxaca, and non-toxic cosmetics line Spela—for fee- good shopping in one spot.

Artifact: Multicultural Holiday Pop-Up

12–6 p.m. Sat, Dec 1, Artifact: Creative Recycle
The vintage experts at Artifact open their doors to a dozen POC vendors selling body care products, candles, artisanal food spices, barrel-aged honey, vegan bakery treats, vintage and pan African clothing, upcycled bags, and handmade jewelry. The shopping fest is also a fundraiser for Brown Girl Rise.

Suminagashi

Sundaze Winter Workshops

Various times Sun, Dec 2, Cleaners at the Ace Hotel
Make your holiday gifts yourself—but do them right with the help of experts. Sundaze Collective hosts a day of maker workshops for you to get your hands dirty. There's the meditative art of Suminagashi, a Japanese paper marbling technique using ink on paper, led by Jessica Pezalla, founder and creative director of design studio Bramble Workshop. Or you can opt to join florists from Sea of Roses using fresh and dried botanicals to create a holiday-inspired wreath. Like sweets? Make your own shows-topping edible cookie wreath with Sweetheart St. Johns bakers. Finally, turn up the dial on your hosting with a class from Pepé Le Moko's distinguished head bartender, Jamie Socci. She's on deck to show you how to craft punch, a hot toddy, and a stirred cocktail with things you already have in your pantry and bar.
