Northwest Craft Spirit Festival

1–5 p.m. Sat, Sept 1, Mt. Hood Meadows, $15 at door, $12 in advance
Mt. Hood Meadows, normally visited during its ice-bound ski season, throws a Hood-area distillery festival. The lineup includes 44 North, Big Gin, Trails End, Clear Creek, and Hood River Distillers with Double Mountain Hopped Whiskey. Expect gobsmacking views of the mountain, spirit samples, and cocktail demonstrations.

Mezcal Extravaganza at Xico

2–5 p.m. Mon, Sept 3, Xico, prices start at $25 for admission and tasting
Listen up, mezcal lovers: Xico is hosting 10 boutique producers from Mexico, with artisan bottles rarely seen north of the border. For a deeper dive, a handful of producers will also teach classes on the philosophy and practices behind the smoky spirit. Respected chef and culinary instructor Pilar Cabrera, of La Olla in Oaxaca City, will cook up four courses on Xico’s patio, with small bites from Langbaan and Nostrana to round things out. 

First Responder Oyster Eating Charity

10–11 a.m. Sat, Sept 15, Ways & Means Oyster House, FREE
Ways & Means Oyster House hosts three competing teams of police officers and firefighters in an oyster eating competition to raise charity for Just Compassion, the Oregon Fallen Badge Foundation, and Beaverton Police Department's Shop with a Cop Program. Guests can watch our local first responders guzzle oysters until they burst, with brunch to follow at 11 a.m.

The Bloody Mary Festival

10:30 a.m.–6 p.m. Sun, Sept 23, District East, $45 for general admission, $55 for VIP
This nationwide Bloody Mary tour hits Portland’s District East building, with 15 local participants including Pok Pok, Ya Hala, Pine State Biscuits, and Headwaters, just to name a few. Expect gallons of the salty, spicy, boozy stuff, along with local food and live music. Benefits go to the Humane Society for Southwest Washington. 

Peche Fest at Saraveza

3–10 p.m. Sat, Oct 6, Saraveza and Bad Habit, $10
Back for its seventh year, Peche Fest highlights more than 20 peach beers and ciders in a total tap takeover of beer hangout Saraveza and neighboring event space Bad Habit. Expect Oregon’s top breweries, from Little Beast to Wolves & People to Logsdon, to make an appearance.
