Author S.J. Sindu’s debut work of fiction, Marriage of a Thousand Lies, follows the complicated marriage of Lucky and Krishna, two closeted queer Sri Lankan Americans from conservative families. When a family emergency calls Lucky home and she rekindles a romance with her first lover, she's challenged to put an end to the marital charade. Kate Carroll de Gutes, author of The Authenticity Experiment and recipient of the 2016 Oregon Book Award for creative nonfiction, joins Sindu in conversation.
