On July 13th through 15th Portlanders saddled up to beat the heat with Portland Monthly in partnership with Toyota, local farmers, and a whole herd of distillers, brewers, winemakers, regional purveyors and 50+ of Portland’s hottest chefs to create an all you can eat farm-to-table food festival.
With four events in three days, Cowabunga featured hands on chef demos, a totally unique outdoor VIP dinner, a down-home Barn Bash and tastings galore! Kicking off the weekend with Seared, our VIP dinner, chefs cooked over open fire pits, guests tasted local pinot noirs, and the Moonstruck open pit s’mores were the ultimate summer dessert. The next day at Farm Out guests got to get their hands dirty and learn the insider’s tricks to the local restraint favorites. Build for the home cook enthusiast, Farm Out let people learn, and taste, from some of Portland’s finest chefs. Following that up was Barn Bash, Portland Monthly’s revival of an age of Parkrose tradition. There were bites. There were brews. And There was a whole LOT of fun! With live jams and competitions, Barn Bash was a tradition meant to be resurrected. Bringing the weekend home was the 7th annual Country Brunch. This was a family friendly day of brunch bites including an I-Scream Scoop Competition and Bloody Mary Smackdown. With 2,000+ attendees Cowabunga was an unforgettable weekend on the farm!
