Dunthorpe is known for its elegant properties and central location. This is a close-knit, residential community located 10 minutes south of downtown Portland near Lewis & Clark College and the city of Lake Oswego. Usually considered as the most prestigious address in the Portland area, it is very secluded, yet close to all the amenities that the city has to offer. Dunthorpe is 100 percent single family residential with private mansions and large, oversized lots, some with their own boathouses and docks. Most of the area is zoned for a minimum of 20,000 square foot lots, but many of the homes and estates sit on much larger lots, often an acre or more. The eastern side is bordered by the Willamette River and is home to many waterfront homes. The Dunthorpe neighborhood also offers convenient access to amenities and services such as restaurants, cafes and shops in its surrounding communities, including John’s Landing, Burlingame, Sellwood and Lake Oswego. To the south, Dunthorpe connects with Tryon Creek State Park – Oregon’s only state park within a major metropolitan area – which offers 652 acres of natural park land and 40 miles of hiking, biking, walking and equestrian trails. As with its neighboring communities to the south – Lake Oswego and West Linn – Dunthorpe is ideal for the water sport enthusiast. Easy access to the river allows for endless recreational activities year round.
