Still feeling uncertain about hopping on a plane, but think you've been there, done that in Oregon? Think again: the hotel boom has spread far beyond Portland, and there are some brand-new options out there for where to lay your head.
Originally built in 1942, the Anchor Inn Resort landed in the hands of its current owners in July of 2019. Following a series of updates, renovations, and other revamps, its 23 rooms are now available to the public. Guests can find an arcade room filled with classic video games like Pac-Man or Super Mario, multiple fire pits (rooms come with a free s’more kit), and the “Amenities Room” with a DVD library, family games, and coffee station.
While You're In Town: Make sure to stop by The Lincoln City Glass Center, where customers can either purchase the glass creations in the shop, or make their own, and grab a bite to eat at the Nauti Mermaid while you watch the sunset over the ocean.

This hotel, opened earlier this year, gives off an art gallery vibe, with rotating installations. Some of the rooms have special perks, such as fireplaces, separate living spaces, and balconies. Located smack in the middle of downtown Eugene, the Gordon overlooks the 5th Street Public Market, which features different small businesses that include gourmet foods, boutique shops, and local art.
SCP (Soul Community Planet) Redmond is all in on sustainability. The furniture is made from regionally sourced materials, the food is organic and its rooftop bar (the only one in the city) overlooks the Central Cascades. The dining options on-site are especially notable: there's Provision Market for guests to grab quick, healthy bites, Terra Kitchen, which focuses on plant-based food, and that rooftop bar, which highlights cocktails and small dishes. Originally built in 1929, the building is on the National Register of Historic Places, but has been fully updated inside.
While You're In Town: There's tons to do in central Oregon—start with a swing through Smith Rock State Park and the Redmond Caves recreation area, as well as visiting Geist Beerworks and Moonshine Bar.
Opened in March, Home2 is located near the State Capitol, shopping, museums, and a short drive from hiking at Silver Falls State Park. Each room has a large fridge, microwave, and dishwasher with cooktop burners available for easy eating if you don’t want to check out the many nearby restaurants. Guests can also find a heated saline pool.
While You're In Town: Try the Korean restaurant called Happy Bibimap House or tuck into all-day breakfast at Anette's Westgate Cafe. If you're visiting between Thanksgiving and New Year's, check out the Silverton Christmas Market (previously known as Christmas in the Garden) that feature beautiful light displays, and a German Christmas market.
Rooms range from the classic one bed, one bath hotel rooms to apartment style suites with full kitchens, living areas, and separate bedrooms. After visiting the Deschutes River or the Newberry Volcanic Monument, guests can relax at the large indoor pool and hot tub, hang out by the outdoor fire pits, or play the corn hole and bacce ball games in the outdoor common area.
While You're In Town: Check out some of Bend's wine tasting at places like Evoke Winery or Va Piano Vineyards, at the Old Mill District, or explore of the city's many, many trails, golf courses, rivers or lakes.
