When Luc Lac landed in downtown Portland in 2011, no one knew what to expect: Grand Marnier sliced through avocado-cardamom milkshakes, pho spilled out of the kitchen long past midnight, and customers happily jammed into a hangar-bay of a dining room. Thanks to black-vested brothers Adam and Alan Ho, Luc Lac is now a perpetually-slammed late-night dining destination, with creative cocktails and comforting Vietnamese flavors. But after-work troops beware: a giant chalkboard sign up front reads "late joiners are not welcomed" ... and they mean it. The bar's rigorously-enforced seating policy, which requires all party members to be in attendance, makes the Soup Nazi look like Mother Teresa.
