Why Smoke Alone? 3 Cannabis-Fueled Social Events in Portland

You could smoke by yourself. But maybe you—an engaged, ambitious member of society—want to be active. Social! Productive, even! Here’s how.*

Stretch

Buddha Bud Yoga, every three weeks at North Portland’s Yoga Shala, pairs weed with warrior pose. Students light up—expect a vast array of pipes and bubblers—then practice an hour-long flow led by ace instructor Karli Janine Erickson. Enlightenment? Possibly. Snacks at the end? Absolutely.

Craft

A little cannabis can awaken creativity—or at least silence your inner critic. Puff, Pass and Paint is like those wine-and-painting parties, with pot subbing for pinot. Rather glaze a pretty new pipe for yourself? Opt for offshoot Puff, Pass and Pottery, a collab with Stonedware’s Ariel Zimman. Upcoming workshops with Make & Mary include abstract painting, embroidery patch making, and even pyrography—the art of wood burning.

Befriend

Sorry, fellas: this one’s just for the ladies. Tokeativity hosts panels and business workshops for women; at monthly socials, more than 100 women pile into a Northeast Portland house (sign up to get the address) for crafts, costumes, and (perhaps) belly dancing or a pop-up tattoo parlor. The attic lounge, strung with twinkly lights and strewn with pillows, is where you’ll make your new best friends.

*Because of The Law, these events are all BYOC—bring-your-own-cannabis.
