With the historic main street glowing in soft lights and a trolley winding through town, it’s easy to see why Jacksonville was recently named by HGTV as “The Most Charming Town in Oregon,” and voted the perfect place for a Hallmark Movie. This town is absolutely tipsy on festive charm.
What makes Jacksonville trip-worthy any time of year is that it’s been preserved since the 1800s gold-rush era, when miners dotted the snow-dusted hills hoping to strike rich. Now with its patinaed brick buildings and timeworn stoops, the draw hasn’t faded, especially when it’s all dressed up in green garlands and red bows.

At the top of the list for any winter visit to Jacksonville is the Holiday Trolley Lights Tour. Grab your hot cocoa as the trolley takes you on a tour of Victorian homes and storefronts sparkling in lights. Tickets go on sale Nov. 1st–book early as they sell out fast.
Jacksonville’s jewel of the season is the Victorian Holiday Parade, complete with marching bands, horse drawn carriages, and Santa arriving in his vintage red pick-up truck. The Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in front of historic City Hall is also a favorite amongst visitors and locals.

Only four hours from Portland and minutes to the Medford International Airport, a trip to Jacksonville offers the child-like excitement of the season and a chance to make new holiday traditions.
