SE Hawthorne: Joe Ban and Heather Hunter's Paleo-centric food cart Cultured Caveman now has a second location in the former Mira's Ladle cart across the street from the Hawthorne New Seasons. The new Cultured Caveman location will officially open October 13th, offering high-protein, low-carb grub for everyone. 4031 SE Hawthorne
SE 2nd: A new cart pod is in the works for the Central Eastside Industrial District, and several big names in mobile food are already on board. According to The O, "The Row" is the brainchild of Potato Champion's Mike McKinnon, and is set to include new locations of Pyro Pizza and Koi Fusion, the relocated Big-Ass Sandwiches, and a new venture from Whiffies Fried Pies. The pod is set to open on October 26th. In other Food Cart news, D-Street Noshery is set to shutter on October 31st. 304 SE Second Ave.

NE Alberta: Gojo Ethiopian Restaurant is now open in the space formerly occupied by First Harvest community kitchen. The small spot offers traditional dishes like slow-braised meats in berbere, red lentil stews, collard greens, Ethiopian coffee, and two kinds of injera. 915 NE Alberta
NE Alberta: Circa 33 owners Josh Johnston and Jim Hall’s new pub Alberta Substation celebrated its Grand Opening in the former Siam Society space on Friday. Eater Interviews: The good folks over at Eater PDX give Portland Monthly restaurant editor Karen Brooks the interview treatment following her Top Chef Masters judging panel appearance. Among the behind-the-scenes info revealed: "The final show didn't begin to capture the level of debate. A lot of great arguments ended up on the cutting room floor."
