Love Letters is Portland Monthly’s quarterly series from nonfiction comics creator and editor Shay Mirk celebrating the parties and places that shape our city.

After a long stretch on the west side near Providence Park, Scrap Creative Reuse hauled its stacks of paper, bins of buttons, and general ephemera to a new home at 619 SE Sixth Ave last year. A visit to the shop is an adventure, with constantly changing inventory of bizarre bits and bobs as well as sewing classes, DIY stuffie labs, and bookbinding clinics.
