The Maker’s Table | A Winemaker Dinner Series at the Portland Art Museum

Oregon winemakers and visual artists come together for a new one-of-a-kind experience of wine, art, and conversation.

Presented by Portland Art Museum April 23, 2026

This spring, the Portland Art Museum launches The Maker’s Table—an intimate evening series bringing together Oregon winemakers and visual artists for a one-of-a-kind experience of wine, art, and conversation.

Held after hours in the Museum’s stunning new Mark Rothko Pavilion, each evening explores the creative process behind art and wine. Guests are invited not to simply taste and observe, but to engage, discovering how inspiration takes shape, how tension fuels beauty, and how artistry evolves over time.

This inaugural season of the Maker’s Table includes five unforgettable events, with each event featuring a different visual artist represented by the Portland Art Museum’s Rental Sales Gallery paired with an Oregon winery. Guests can choose from three experiences: the Pre-Dinner Tasting Experience, the Seated Winemaker Dinner, or the Collector’s Table Dinner Series, which includes tickets to all five events.

Pre-Dinner Tasting

A conversation-driven, walk-around tasting in the Rothko Pavilion’s Community Commons featuring wine pours, seasonal passed appetizers, and artwork on view throughout the space.  The experience includes a moderated conversation between the featured winemaker and visual artist.

Seated Winemaker Dinner

Begin the evening with the Pre-Dinner Tasting followed by a three-course, plated dinner with wine pairings, and a chef-driven menu.

This meal will take place in the Rothko Pavilion’s third floor gallery, overlooking both the city and the museum’s magnificent Grand Gallery.  Guests will be joined by that evening’s featured winemaker and visual artist for a more intimate continuation of the conversation.

Collector’s Table Dinner Series

Experience the full Maker’s Table season at the highest level, with an opportunity to engage more deeply with the artists, winemakers, and ideas that define each evening.
