Sure, we’re already smitten with her spectacular selection of Dutch roses and lilies-of-the-valley, but we’re even more impressed that owner Kim Foren regularly procures such fragrant delights directly from Aalsmeer, Holland, home to the world’s largest flower auction. That her Geranium Lake Flowers is entrusted with the floral arrangements for Nike and Wildwood restaurant, as well as some 200 brides each year, doesn’t hurt either. And there’s this charming anecdote: When the Benson Hotel accidentally double-booked none other than then-vice president Al Gore and NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal into the same suite in 2000, they called Foren. Within the hour, she delivered to each of the two powerhouses 15 bouquets of orchids and roses, saving our city’s good name in the process.
