This little red cart behind a Little Caesar’s Pizza in Aloha doubles as the leading edge of La Vang-Herr’s Hmong “food movement,” featuring a short roster of the nonprofit insider-turned-chef’s ginger and cilantro heady Hmong cuisine staples—crispy “phat wings” stuffed with turkey and bean thread noodles to tender twice-cooked pork ribs. Dubbed @La’s, it’s arguably the only place in the metro area—if not the entire Northwest—to score handmade porky fatty-delicious Hmong sausages, redolent with ginger, Hmong peppers, and kaffir lime, among other specialties.
