Just heard that Portland singer, songwriter, and hot sauce entrepreneur Scotland Barr Moritz passed away from cancer. I’d enjoyed his album from last year, All the Great Aviators Agree, made with his band the Slow Drags. It was honest, heartfelt country rock that managed to cut both tender and bleak.

The talented fellow also was responsible for locally made Secret Aardvark Hot Sauce, a fiery tonic that enlivened every breakfast it landed on. Our condolences to his family and friends.
