Win Tickets to Grace Potter and the Nocturnals

Performing at the Zoo on Thursday, July 19

By Aaron Scott July 10, 2012

Grace Potter and the Nocturnals seem like they’re everywhere this summer promoting their new album, The Lion The Beast The Beat. Conan, VH1 Storytellers, rocking out the Led Zeppelin covers with the Flaming Lips during the O Awards on a Southern roadtrip to break the Guinness Book World Record for most concerts performed in 24 hours (see below). And very likely piping through your car’s speakers on the radio with her single “Never Go Back.”

Potter’s an old school rocker—equal parts Stevie Nicks, Janis Joplin, and Sheryl Crow—with nonstop touring chops and seven albums under her belt. And as magazines like Equire and Men’s Health like to point out, a sexy one to boot. It’s not much of a gamble to say she’s on the edge of stepping onto the national stage, and we’ve got two tickets for her concert at the Zoo, so you can say you saw her first.

This contest is now closed.

And for those interested in a little sampler:

The band’s new single, “Never Go Back,” complete with steampunk carnies and creepy neotribal-dressed hooligans, all of whom would look at home at Last Thursday.

Potter and the Flaming Lips covering Led Zeppelins “The Rain Song.”

And perhaps a little more representational of the live experience:
