He used to be a nobody from Long Beach named Calvin Broadus Jr.

Under the tutelage of Dr. Dre, he became Snoop Dogg a little more than 20 years ago, and proceeded to sell over 30 million records (and a heckuva lot of "Gin & Juice").

As of this year he's a born-again rastafarian named Snoop Lion, with his own documentary, Reincarnated, and a new album, also called Reincarnated. Whether it's a legit spiritual conversion or just a wacky marketing ploy, he's coming to the Roseland August 27.
