Since making a name for herself with her stand-up act and on the sketch comedy show Laugh-In in the 1970’s, Lily Tomlin has been a constant presence in film, television, and stage. Her versatility knows no bounds, from her precocious and often slightly mistaken child philosopher Edith Ann, to her most well-known roles in the movies 9 to 5 and All of Me, to her recent work alongside Meryl Streep in Robert Altman’s adaptation of A Prairie Home Companion and guest role in HBO’s outrageous Eastbound and Down. 

Indeed, she's practically an EGOT, the most elite status among performers (that is, someone who's won the highest awards in the biz: an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony). She's released five comedy albums, including 1971's This is a Recording, which won a Grammy. Then she's wracked up two Tonys (including one for lifetime achievement) and six Emmys. If only she'd won the Oscar she was nominated for in 1975 for her dramatic debut in Altman’s Nashville. So close, Lily, so close!

And Saturday, she will revisit the multitude of outrageous, classic characters and display her profound observational humor at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall in a benefit concert for Our House, which provides vital services to low-income people living with HIV/AIDS.
