Get ready, Portland. This whole Pixies reunion thing, a victory lap that began almost a decade ago, isn’t going anywhere. Or, rather, it’s going lots of places: specifically yet another sold out world tour to round out 2013. They’ve also just released their first new music in more than 20 years, a surprise single (“Bagboy”) and subsequent EP that proves their songwriting is still as unassailable as their stage presence.

Pixies understand that fans’ appetite for the band’s commanding live show is basically insatiable, and so they’ve added a whole new string of US dates in early 2014, including a Portland date scheduled for February 19 at the Schnitz, with Best Coast in support. Their last US shows were a string of four club dates each in New York and LA that sold out instantly. Tickets for this show go on sale here this Friday (October 11) at 10:00 AM. You better be sitting in front of your computer, pounding the refresh button.
