Bastas Celebrates 20 Years of Italian Classics

This Northwest 21st trattoria is celebrating two decades of honest Italian cooking with weekly specials that harken back to dishes of yore—and their pre-inflation prices.

Chef Marco Frattaroli has earned a reputation for celebrating the history of Italian cuisine, but this year he’ll be focusing on his own history.

Today marks Bastas’ twentieth anniversary, and throughout the year of 2012, chef/owner Frattaroli will be bringing back specials from the early nineties—along with their original prices.

The "historic" Bastas menu specials will change weekly, starting with this week’s throw-back dish: housemade pancetta and sage-wrapped chicken skewers served over creamy polenta for just $6.95.
