Free Bagels at KitchenCru

Lamenting the loss of your favorite Portland bagels? Here’s a limited-time alternative that just happens to be FREE.

The good folks over at Old Town’s "culinary incubator" KitchenCru have been experimenting with some new equipment, boiling up real New York-style bagels by the hundreds to perfect their technique—and they need your help to eat them all.

This Saturday (March 31) beginning at 11 am, stop by KitchenCru for a free bagel and schmear while supplies last—the Cru will have around 500 free bagels for the masses.

This weekend’s bagel varieties include plain, poppy, sesame, onion, salt and pepper, truffle salt, and a special soy, ginger, and miso bagel that sounds truly original. To top them off, the Cru will whip up plain, smoked salmon, veggie, house-made nutella, fine herbs, and kimchi schmears for your mixing and matching pleasure.

KitchenCru’s bagels are fermented, boiled, then baked to chewy perfection, and if you fall in love with their recipe, have no fear! You can purchase a bag of bagels to take home for $5 a half dozen.
