Portland Beer Week 2012

Grab your glass and let the taps flow, because Portland Beer Week is back and better than ever!
This year’s suds-centric event calendar is filled to the rim with beer pairing dinners, grand tastings, and enough limited-run specialty beers to turn beer novices into brew geeks in less than ten days, guaranteed.
The fun kicks off on Thursday, June 7th with the official Portland Beer Week Kickoff Party at Spirit of 77, featuring the exclusive release of the collaborative Deschutes/Hopworks India Red Lager (the official beer of PDX Beer Week 2012). The $25 event will be full of free swag bags, beers from over 16 local breweries, a competitive pop-a-shot tournament, with plenty of food pairings. Get your tickets here.
Seriously, folks, you might want to use up some of those vacation days this week: The week-long festival will bring out the best brews from around Beervana, including the Rye Beer Fest, the Portland Fruit Beer Festival, a Brew B Que with Double Mountain Brewery at the Landmark Saloon, New Belgium Sour Blending Symposium, the Brewers Burger Brawl, Battle of the Belgians, Belmont Station’s 15th Anniversary party, Kölsch Day at Prost, the Portland Beer and Cheese Fest featuring picks from Cheese Bar and Chop Charcuterie, as well as plenty of brewers dinners offering multiple courses to soak up the booze.
Check out the full calendar here, pull out your stretchy pants, and send some flowers to your favorite designated drivers. You’re gonna need ’em.
