Kermit Lynch Genovese Dinner at Genoa

What: Celebrate the wine world legacy of Kermit Lynch with a six-course meal featuring flavors from Liguria, Provence and Corsica, alongside refreshing sips from these lesser-known wine regions (that were, incidentally, once controlled by the city-state of Genoa). Lyle Railsback from Kermit Lynch will co-host the event with Genoa’s resident wine expert Michael Garofola and chef David Anderson.
When: Tuesday, July 24th at 6:30 pm

Portland Food Adventures at Smallwares

What: An intimate, multi-course dinner with chef Johanna Ware, featuring her creative spin on Asian small plates. The talented chef will share her internationally-inspired dishes, great cocktails and sake, and her favorite places to dine and drink around Portland.
When: Wednesday, July 25th at 6:30 pm
Where: Smallwares 4605 NE Fremont St
How Much: $125 per person, including food, drinks, gratuity, and gift certificates to Salt & Straw, Random Order Coffee House and Bakery, Bunk Bar and Barwares. For more information, head to the PFA website.

White Burgundy vs. Oregon Chardonnay Tasting at Cork

What: With so many producers descending on the Portland area for IPNC this month to showcase all things Pinot Noir, the folks at Cork bottle shop can’t resist putting on a little friendly competition of the other primary Burgundian grape, Chardonnay. This tasting will pit 3 examples from Burgundy against 3 examples from our own Willamette Valley.
When: Friday, July 27th from 4 to 7 pm
Where: Cork 2901 NE Alberta Street
How Much: $15 tasting fee, free for Cork Club members.

The Secret Society’s 4 Year Anniversary Bash

What: An evening of food and drink specials accompanies by free live music (including Pete Krebs and His Portland Playboys) to celebrate 4 years of music and merriment at Matt Johnson’s Northeast Portland all-in-one restaurant, bar, venue, and recording studio.
When: Friday, July 27th from 5 pm to 1 am
Where: The Secret Society 116 NE Russell Street
How Much: Free music, food and drink specials all night long.

Townshend’s Division Street Teahouse Grand Opening Celebration

What: Celebrate the opening of Portland’s newest tea shop! During the day, 25% of sales will be donated to ECO (Ecology in Classrooms and Outdoors), a local non-profit organization that provides hands-on science enrichment programs to elementary schools throughout Oregon. There will also be a free tea tasting in the evening and giveaways throughout the day.
When: Friday, July 27th from 9 am to 10 pm. Free tea tasting from 6 to 8 pm.
Where: Townshend’s Division Street Teahouse 3531 SE Division
How Much: Free tasting and prizes, tea prices during the day vary.

Rabbit Wine Pairing Dinner at Lincoln

What: A four-course meal centered around sustainably-raised rabbit from Boring, Oregon’s Dutcher Farm. The educational meal will also feature not one but two wines for each course from Elk Cove Vineyards and Chehalem.
When: Tuesday, July 31st
Where: Lincoln 3808 North Williams Ave
How Much: $65 including four courses and wine. Call 503-288-6200 to make a reservation.

OMSI "Dirt to Dinner" Food Sustainability Festival

What: A free and bilingual family-friendly festival showcasing the life cycle of our food, helping visitors understand how eating habits affect the environment. The entertaining celebration will feature cooking demonstrations, nutritional and shopping education, chicken raising and compost workshops, food from micro-entrepreneurs.
When: Saturday and Sunday, August 4th and 5th, from 10 am to 4 pm.
Where: OMSI 1945 SE Water Avenue
How Much: Free!

Torii Mor Summer Fest

What: Toast to summer during this al fresco wine tasting in the Japanese Garden at the Torii Mor winery in Dundee. The celebration will also feature Mexican food from the Taco Pedaler, live jazz and blues from Eric John Kaiser, and a summer showcase of cars from Mini Cooper.
When: Saturday, August 4th from 11 am to 5 pm
Where: Torii Mor Winery 18323 NE Fairview Drive in Dundee
How Much: $10 tasting fee, free for wine club members.

The Bite of Oregon

What: Portland’s annual waterfront food festival, featuring food and drink vendors, cooking competitions, chef demonstations, kids activities, live music, craft beer, and more. Proceeds from The Bite benefit The Special Olympics of Oregon.
When: August 10th and 11th from 11 am to 10 pm, and August 12th from 11 am to 8 pm.
Where: The Bite of Oregon at Tom McCall Waterfront Park in Portland.
How Much: $5 each day, kinds 12 and under are free. Get your advance tickets here.
