SE Hawthorne: The short-lived handmade hot dog joint Bird Dog restaurant has closed after a year in business. Bird Dog owners David and Celeste Williams have sold the space, which will reopen as Bar Dobre this week. According to new owners Kimberly and Stan Pratnicki, "Dobre" means "good" in polish, and they'll be serving up Stan's house-made fare alongside beer, wine, and cocktails. 3962A SE Hawthorne Blvd

SE Foster: A new Latino public market is heading to Lents. The Portland Mercado, a project backed by Hacienda Community Development Corporation and a recent grant from the federal Office of Community Services, will occupy a space on Southeast 72nd Avenue and Foster Road, complete with butcher shop, commercial kitchen, produce, craft vendors, and food carts. SW Washington: Eater PDX has confirmed (via ChefStable's Kurt Huffman) that the former Corazón space in the West End will be split to house Anthony Cafiero's Racion and the second location of Rick Gencarelli's sandwich sensation Lardo. SW Market: After just three months of business, downtown's Market will pare down its dinner service, effective immediately. Chef Troy Furuta's menu will only be available on evenings with shows at neighboring Keller Auditorium. Weekday lunch service will remain unchanged. Milwaukie: Chef Pascal Sauton's Milwaukie Kitchen & Wine will begin dinner service starting Thursday, November 1st. The dine-in or take-out menu will feature fall comfort foods like Shepherd's Pie, Braised Pork, Roasted Chicken, and desserts from new pastry chef Corrie Klein.
