Chef Eric Bechard, of McMinnville's lauded Thistle, is set to debut an intimate, 20-seat Portland restaurant in the space currently home to Lyrik Coffee House at 2035 Southeast Cesar E Chavez. 

The cozy eatery—dubbed Roosevelt—will bring Bechard's farm-to-table wine country savvy to the heart of urban PDX, on one of the Eastside's busiest thoroughfares.

Nestled halfway between bustling Hawthorne and Division, the new restaurant is slated to focus on nose-to-tail wild game (think wood pigeon and American blue rabbit), foraged produce, and in-house preservation in the form of pickles and cured meats.

Bechard hopes the menu will change daily, offering around a dozen specials from primal meat plates to sharable small dishes. Roosevelt will debut in early 2013. Stay tuned for more information as it comes in.
