Win Tickets to Soup for the Soul
Nothing cures the winter blues like a hot bowl of soup, save for perhaps a hot bowl of soup ladled up for a good cause. The Transition Projects' annual Soup for the Soul competition is taking over the Pearl District’s Urban Studio on Thursday, February 21st from 6 to 8:30 pm, and will feature some of Portland’s hottest chefs offering their spins on hearty comfort-food classics.
Among the recognizable faces at the benefit-in-a-bowl dinner: Allium Bistro's Pascal Chureau, Iorio's Chris Thompson, Lardo's Rick Gencarelli, Mother's Lisa Schroeder, Paragon's Lawrence "Rocky" Smith, and students from the Oregon Culinary Institute's Food Ethics department. Sweet treats will also be available from Cupcake Jones and Missionary Chocolates.
Want to sip soup from the pros? The $75 event will benefit the work of Transition Projects, an organization that helps over 500 people move from homelessness to housing each year. Get your tickets for the soup showdown here. (A portion of the ticket price is tax deductible.)
Foodie Freebie: If you’d like to score a free pass to the soup extravaganza, you’re in luck. We scored a pair of tickets to give away to our readers, and they just might have your name on them.
