Party Pics from Portland Monthly's Country Brunch
Portland Monthly once again convinced the best of Portland's food and drink scene to wake up early for the second annual Country Brunch and Bloody Mary Smackdown on June 24.
The benefit for Zenger Farms' Urban Grange barn-raising efforts featured brunch fare from Bent Brick, Boke Bowl, Departure, Genies Cafe, Lauretta Jean's, and Pine State Biscuits and Absolut-powered Bloody Marys from Circa 33, Florida Room, Genies Cafe, Le Bistro Montage, Olympic Provisions, and Pine State Biscuits.
Light streamed in from the Yale Union (YU) center for contemporary art's floor-to-ceiling windows, casting a golden glow on tables decked with fresh produce, loaded plates of biscuits and gravy, scoops of Zenger Farms' herb-infused strawberry ice cream from Ruby Jewel, and a central stage supporting the down-home stylings of Caleb Klauder Country Band.
As for the Bloody Mary Smackdown, our panel of thirsty celebrity judges sampled plenty of creative concoctions to select this year's champion: Le Bistro Montage and their Andouille-infused vodka mary. Last year's defending champion Irving St. Kitchen managed to hold on the the People's Choice award for the second year in a row.
