The owners of the colorful new restaurant transformed a former coffee shop and medical marijuana dispensary into a South American-inspired culinary haven.

The counter-service eatery is separated into two dining areas. Downstairs, a red-hued room with window counter seats, tables, and the open kitchen invite diners to step up and order from the set menu or an array of specials.

Diners grab their own flatware, napkins, and condiments, including the fiery-fresh Habanero salsa that's made in house.

Upstairs, the soon-to-debut Jaguar Bar will offer a large selection of Mezcals, single-origin chocolates, and pour-over coffee. In the coming weeks, a stairway to the outdoor patio will open for even more seating options.

For now, the blue-hued upstairs dining room features several comfy booths and tables for casual dining.

An offshoot of the upstairs dining room serves as a breezy dine-in sun porch, with views of the street and surrounding neighborhood.

Teote Areperia, the brick and mortar from the owners of Venezuelan-inspired food cart Fuego de Lotus, is now open on SE 12th Avenue. Dishing up fried corn arepas, grilled meats, and vegan-friendly bowls this colorful two-story eatery is open 11 am to 11 pm, Tuesday through Sunday.
