Rip City Gets New Stadium Nosh

There’s a massive menu overhaul in the works at the newly-christened Moda Center. In the past, Blazers fans attending home games at what was until recently known as the Rose Garden might have found the food options a little uninspiring, but no longer: next season will see the debut of local crowd-pleasers Bunk Sandwiches, Sizzle Pie, Killer Burger, and hot wing kings Fire on the Mountain at the east-side stadium.
“Adding some of Portland's favorite restaurants to the arena is something our fans have asked for, and we are really excited to provide these new options," said Trail Blazers President and CEO Chris McGowan in a press release. In addition to these high-profile new additions, some familiar faces like Seven Rivers BBQ will return for the new season, as well as concepts from the Moda Center’s new culinary partner Levy Restaurants.
This isn’t the first effort to fuse pride in Portland’s sporting franchises with pride in its thriving culinary culture: the Blazers’ move follows the lead set by the Timbers and Jeld-Wen field, whose Portland Timbers Food Cart Alliance program brought a variety of the city’s most popular carts to the stadium this season in an effort to showcase the city’s unique food cart scene.
