Wildwood's Wood Room

luxe: The kind of upscale dining establishment that won’t make grandpa complain about exposed lightbulbs and loud music

Clarklewis
This farm-to-table eatery is a little bit French, a little bit Italian, and very Portland, using local, organic ingredients to create decadent meals. The private Kindling Room can be rented for dinners or cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. 1001 SE Water Ave; 503-235-2294

Genoa
Genoa provides classic Italian cuisine delivered in a modern Pacific Northwest fashion. The private dining area can seat up to 18 guests. 2832 SE Belmont St; 503-238-1464

Paley’s Place
For a bit of local flavor, try Paley’s Place. The back room of this converted Victorian house can be reserved for parties of up to 24. 1204 NW 21st Ave; 503-243-2403

Wildwood
Hip enough for you but classic enough for your grandparents, Wildwood has two private dining spaces for small to medium-sized parties. The ever-changing menu offers seasonal, often local foods for every palate. 1221 NW 21st Ave; 503-248-9663

Jake’s Grill
Okay, Jake’s might not be the hottest place in town. But they do seafood right, and if you’ve got a very, uh, traditional grandparent in tow, this might be your safest bet. Jake’s banquet room can accommodate 20-60 people. 611 SW 10th Ave; 503-220-1850

Remedy Wine Bar

OF THE MOMENT: When you simply must be chic

Smallwares & Barwares
This inauthentic Asian-inspired restaurant is one of Portland’s buzziest restaurants right now. Both the restaurant and adjoining bar can be rented out for an evening. 4605 NE Fremont St; 971-229-0995

Little Bird
Sister to Le Pigeon, Little Bird serves up a Northwestern take on French food in a robin’s-egg-colored dining room. The semi-private upper mezzanine can be rented out on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays for parties of more than ten. 219 SW 6th Ave; 503-688-5952

Remedy Wine Bar
Remedy offers a wine experience for seasoned sommeliers and novice wine drinkers alike. The cozy venue can be rented on Sunday and Monday nights, and on other evenings semi-private dining is available for up to 15 guests. 733 NW Everett St; 503-222-1449

The Bent Brick

Comfort Food & Americana: When you’re in the mood for a homemade meal made by someone else.

Country Cat
For a taste of the South up here in the Northwest, you can't do much better than the Country Cat. Private and semi-private spaces are available for medium and large parties. 7937 SE Stark St; 503-408-1414

Firehouse
Firehouse is your destination for hearty, Italian-inspired food cooked in a wood-fired oven, rotisserie, or grill. You can reserve the private upper dining room or buy out the entire restaurant. 711 NE Dekum St; 503-954-1702 

The Original
This casual-upscale retro diner will make your malt shop dreams come true with updated 50s-style burgers, fries and shakes. The second floor mezzanine is available for private parties. 300 SW 6th Avenue; 503-546-2666

Urban Farmer
This high-design steakhouse offers local meats cooked for the season, and no fewer than six private or semi-private areas for birthdays, rehearsal dinners, or reunions. 525 SW Morrison St; 503-222-4900

The Bent Brick
For house made sausages and familiar sides with a twist, the Bent Brick is the place to go. The private upstairs dining room is available for private parties. 1639 NW Marshall St; 503-688-1655 

Besaw's
Besaw's was established in 1903, but it manages to keep a fresh menu and atmosphere. Private events are hosted on the patio area, which is open to the outdoors in the summer but covered and heated in the winter. 2301 NW Savier St; 503-228-2619

International Flavors: Travel around the world without leaving Portland

Saucebox
This "deejay-cafe" offers Asian flavors and a knockout cocktail menu. You can book the mezzanine for a small event, the main dining room for a medium-sized event, or the whole restaurant for a large event. 214 SW Broadway; 503-241-3393

Xico
Some of the best modern Mexican food in Portland can be found at Xico, and the restaurant is so lovely your guests are sure to be impressed. For a party with a festive atmosphere, you can rent out the upstairs room. 3715 SE Division St; 503-548-6343

Andina
Peruvian food is multi-faceted and contains elements of many other cuisines, so Andina's menu offers quite the culinary adventure. Andina has four private dining areas to accommodate events of any size. 1314 NW Glisan St; 503-228-9535

¡Oba!
Oba! serves all manner of Latin food with bright, fresh flavors, and the atmosphere is lively and festive. Reserve all or part of the Havana room for a private event seating up to 100 guests. 555 NW 12th Ave; 503-228-6161

Levant

INTIMATE VENUES: For family gatherings and other small events

Cassidy’s
It's worth hosting an event at Cassidy's for the atmosphere alone, but the food and cocktails certainly won't disappoint. You can host your party in the private banquet room. 1331 SW Washington St; 503-223-0054

Levant
For a very exclusive party, Levant's private dining room offers seating for up to eight people. Levant fuses Middle Eastern and North African flavors with French technique. 2448 E Burnside St; 503-954-2322

Rooms with a view: Portland is beautiful; why not sightsee while you eat?

Departure
If urban sightseeing is your style, Departure provides stunning vistas in the heart of downtown. The modern Asian-inspired restaurant, located on the fifteenth floor of the Nines hotel, offers three spaces for private events—indoor or outdoor—and can accomodate many dietary restrictions. 525 SW Morrison St; 503-802-5370

Portland City Grill
Or if that's not high enough, the view from Portland City Grill (located on the 30th floor of US Bankcorp Tower) is impressive, especially at night.  They have several private rooms for small groups or can accommodate large groups cocktail style. 111 SW 5th Ave; 503-450-0030

Aquariva
Located right on the waterfront, the view from Aquariva is breathtaking, particularly in the summertime. They have one private dining room, one semi-private dining room, and patio space available for your event. 0470 SW Hamilton Ct; 503-802-5850

Olympic Provisions NW

Irving St. Kitchen
This Pacific Northwestern paradise has a private room that can seat up to 75 people. It also has A/V capabilities, so you can set up powerpoints or slideshows—or even something fun. 701 NW 13th Ave; 503-343-9440 

Ned Ludd
This wood-fired “American Craft Kitchen” serves homey, seasonal plates. The entire restaurant can be rented out Monday and Tuesday evenings. 3925 NE MLK Blvd; 503-288-6900

Olympic Provisions
Charcuterie fans can rent out either of the two Olympic Provisions locations for private events.
