Since 1974, Old Town Pizza has been serving up piping hot pizzas on their signature fresh-made dough. In 2012, the restaurant added craft beer to its list of notable products with the addition of a Northeast Portland brewery. The brew team, led by head brewer Bolt Minister, is already getting acclaim from their suds and recently took home a gold medal from the Great American Beer Festival for their Cents and Censability pale ale. On April 15, the historic establishment celebrates its 40th anniversary complete with costumes, music, and a special anniversary brew. The anniversary brew, which is a pre-prohibition lager packed with German hops and American malt, is named after the restaurant's resident ghost, Nina. We got a sneak peek of the special throwback beer. All photos ©Brooke Bass
