A Full Lineup of Summer Events in Wine Country

With summer solstice officially behind us and warm sunny Oregon days ahead, the Willamette Valley's wine country is gearing up for another action-packed summer.
Special events in Portland's neighboring wine region range from summertime wine tours to harvest dinners, half marathons to true dog-days of summer. Those looking for a little more relaxation can casually sip some of the region’s best wines, including one of the many celebrated pinot noirs that the valley is known for.
Here’s a quick peek at what Summer in the Valley is all about:
• Pink Rosé Festival ($50), July 12 from 12 to 4 pm: With temperatures climbing, there’s no better time to think pink—pink wine, that is. On July 12, the refreshing summer sipper will be celebrated by 26 valley rosé producers at Patton Valley Vineyard. While there, guests will taste, tour, and indulge in the region’s finest rosé wines and nosh on treats from Portland’s Crown Paella and Scoop ice cream.
• Oregon Wine Country Half Marathon ($110), August 31 at 7 am: Those looking to break a sweat while soaking up the valley landscape can partake in the Oregon Wine Country Half Marathon, a 13 mile course that winds through the hills and vineyards of Yamhill Valley. At the end of the race, participants will be greeted by a celebratory post-race Wine & Music Festival in downtown Carlton complete with live music and, of course, local wines.
• North Willamette Vinters Canine Uncorked ($40), August 9 from 11 am to 4 pm: Love wine tasting in the valley but hate leaving Fido at home? Take part in Canines Uncorked, a dog-friendly wine tasting event that pampers your palate and your pooch at the same time. Participating wineries will offer wine tastings to two-legged attendees, while their four-legged furry friends will engage in dog-friendly activities like paw print artwork and professional pet photos. Even better, 100% of proceeds go towards helping animals at the Oregon Humane Society!
• Bounty of Yamhill County ($150), September 7 at 5:30 pm: This special event happening in the lush Dundee Hills allows guests to celebrate Yamhill County’s finest chefs, farms, and vineyards in one of the valley’s most picturesque locations. Guests will experience the true farm-to-table movement during a harvest dinner complete with 20 local chefs, 20 farmers, 20 vintners, and live music. They'll also have access to a "Wall of Wines" to take home a piece of their experience at a discounted price.
