Science Pub Portland: Science of Vaccinations

What: Curious about vaccines? Give this talk a shot. Part of OMSI's monthly lecture series, Andrew Sylwester Phd., immunologist at OHSU, brings perspective on vaccines—risks, benefits, and the emergence of scientific medicine.

Aviary's Spring Vegetarian Dinner

What: Thanks to the success of Aviary's first-ever 100% vegetarian dinner, the restaurant will be hosting a seasonal meal for the plant-based set every quarter. Next up? Spring dishes like lemongrass and coconut milk soup, miso-marinated Japanese eggplant, chilled silken tofu with sweet hot bean paste, scallions, sesame, and peanuts, and green garlic chawanmushi with nettles and pine nuts

Hypnosis as a Career: Two Free Seminars

What: If you are interested in a new career, or incorporating hypnotherapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) into your work, you will want to attend one of these free, half-day introductory seminars on hypnosis as a career. Given by Geoffrey Knight, prominent, respected and skilled hypnotherapist and director of Knightsbridge Institute.

Food For Fitness class

What: Exercise your cooking skills! Part of the "Better Bites” cooking series, every month OMSI and the National College of Natural Medicine team up to demonstrate food as fuel. This month, Dr. Julie Briley, ND dishes up a four-course tasting menu and discusses “Food for Fitness.” 
When: Thursday, May 216-8 pm

Taking Care Portland Sound Therapy Concert

What: Feeling healing though music? Sounds great! Come listen in as Taking Care Portland Sound Tribe performs sound therapy in a soothing concert at Mt. Tabor Presbyterian church. Hosted by the TCP cancer survivor community and WebLively Wellness, guided meditation will be woven with the music to increase body awareness and foster healing.

2015 North American Body-Mind Centering Association Conference

What: A weekend of experiential workshops, performances, panels, films, and discussions with Body-Mind Centering practitioners (an embodied approach to movement, body and consciousness), and a diverse collection of somatic researchers. Dozens of modalities taught by 70 experts from around the globe will be represented.
