Clematis ‘Rooguchi’

Your monthly garden tip

By Kate Bryant May 17, 2010 Published in the June 2010 issue of Portland Monthly

Drive your garden up a wall with Clematis ‘Rooguchi’. An adept climber, this loosely weaving, six- to eight-foot- long vine produces rafts of fluted, violet-hued flowers from May to September. The elegant displays come with minimal effort: ‘Rooguchi’ requires little more than an occasional drink to thrive. Come winter, a quick trim down to the plant’s base ensures this easygoing perennial will return for many lazy summer days to come.
